US sets hefty duties on Chinese stainless steel sinks

Reuters reported that the United States has set preliminary anti dumping duties ranging from 54.25% to 76.53% on stainless steel sinks from China

It is the US Commerce Department’s second round of duties on the stainless steel sinks. In July, it set preliminary countervailing duties ranging from 2.12% to 13.94% to offset Chinese government subsidies.

Superte Kitchenware Co, Guangdong Dongyuan Kitchenware Industrial Co received preliminary anti-dumping duties of 63.87% and 54.25%, respectively. Nineteen Chinese exporters were hit with a 59.06% preliminary duty. All other Chinese producers and exporters received a duty of 76.53%.

The United States imported USD 118.0 million of stainless steel sinks from China in 2011, up from USD 98.1 million in 2010.

 Tony’s Market will hold its third Annual Tony’s-to-Tony’s Bike Ride on Sept. 30. The Centennial, Colo.-based specialty retailer estimates the event will raise more than $ 5,000. The proceeds will go to Project Recycle, which refurbishes used bikes and distributes them to needy kids in Denver. 

The bike ride is a 71-mile bicycle tour stopping at all four Tony’s Market locations, with an assortment of Tony’s culinary specialties at each stop and an Italian luncheon at the finish. More than 250 cyclists and Tony’s enthusiasts will participate in the charity bike ride. “This has become a signature event for us,” said Tony Rosacci, founder of Tony’s Market. “It is such a feel-good way to enjoy the great Colorado outdoors, sample some delicious food and give back to the community.”
