Denver – Criminal charges now face a husband and wife accused of leaving dozens of customers with unfinished kitchens and empty wallets.

Herman and Susan Hinojosa, owners of Kitchens 2 Go and Kitchens 4 Less, were charged Monday with theft and check fraud in Colorado’s 17th Judicial District.

An earlier CALL7 Investigation exposed the kitchen remodeling company’s questionable practices, that included leaving jobs unfinished and requiring payment in advance. 

After his bankruptcy hearing in February, Hinojosa told CALL7 Investigators, “I haven’t done anything wrong for criminal charges, ” but on Monday the couple was charged with 30 counts of theft, check fraud and theft from at-risk elder adults for taking funds for kitchen remodeling projects through their businesses.

The charges involve activity that began in April 2012 and continued through November 20, 2013, when the Hinojosas filed for bankruptcy. The charges allege that the couple required payment up front and then did little or no work.
